Church Fundraisers

Everything about church fundraisers

i need some good fundraising ideas for my church plz help?

anything would work

WWJD?

Have a Noah's Ark car wash
Have bake sales
Have a pancake and sausage supper
Have a soup supper
Have pledge walks
Bingo if it's legal

Have 5 inch squares of fabric cut up and have fabric markers and sell them a space with their signature on it for maybe 5 dollars each (5 inches, $5.00) OR instead of signatures, they could also illustrate it , then get some church quilting women together to put the quilt squares together and hang it in the church as a memento of their sponsorship. So if you had 500 5 inch squares, you could make the quilt 20 squares wide and 25 squares long. With a 1/4 inch seam allowance, then you would have it measuring 90 inches X 112.5 inches which is about a queen size quilt. By selling every square, you would have made $2,500. on the quilt. You could also have a little fun with it and have a chart that shows the spaces or stickered circles with the number on the blocks and have some door prizes in a drawing for those that had that number block.

One thing we did that was a lot of fun was to collect all sorts of items that were donated from the community.(Could be new or next to new) Then we would have them numbered and on display. We would sell pieces of butterscotch candy or even dum dum suckers and put pieces of paper with a number that corrolated with the prize on it inside the wrapper. Some of them didn't have numbers in them which of course meant that they didn't win, but still it wouldn't be legally considered gambling since they did get a sucker in return for their money of which could be set at as 10 cents or 25 cents a piece for their chance.
We use to do this in ND where I grew up. All of the prizes were on display on tables and we would hope that we would win that prize. This was more fun for kids.

I now live in Ohio and they do chinese auctions in which they would have prizes on display and in front of each prize they would have a paper cup. You would buy pieces of papers with a number on them. So lets say you got chances for 10 cents or 25 cents each. So if you got a $1.00 worth of tickets, you cold put a ticket in each cup that you wanted a chance on or you could even put them all in one cup if you wanted to for a better chance on that item. Then at a certain time every one waits around for someone to draw a number out of the cup to see who wins. This is more popular with adults.

Gee whiz, these are some great ways to make money and I get 4 thumbs down? The devil must have made them do it!

    Bake sales are always good.
    Car wash.
Penny drops – this is where kids or adults drop the pennies/lose change they find at home in a jar and it becomes part of the fund raiser.
Have a adult night baby sitting at your church. Give mom and dad the night to have a date and baby sit their kids for a set fee. You have to have the older teenagers or adults watch the kids.

    Any of these are good.

    Good luck.

Start with clever flyer-ads sent out with stuff like "This is Obama, this is Obama's momma, this is Obama's momma's llama"

Keep going with that pattern and work the name of your church into that and I'm sure people will come

    -No offense intended-
When fund raising becomes necessary in your church-thats a pretty good indicator that you are outside the will of God.

I saw small children soliciting funds at Wal-Mart today for a mission trip. This is wrong. No one in the body of Christ should solicit funds from those outside the church. Its actually blasphemous.

Put on a dinner/ball for everyone. Use tickets and ask for contributions with them.

make book markers or specially designed T-shirts with your church various departments and logo on them.

Start a coin drive where each week each person ( church member) throw their coins in a box until it is full.

    Have a bake sale

    all the best

One of the best fundraisers I have ever seen in action was a "seed" ministry. The church gave every member in attendace $10.00. The idea being, that each person should take that $10 and invest it in a way that would earn more money. One girl bought ingredients for a lemonade stand with her $10, and gave the proceeds to the church. Another man (with waist-long hair!) got sponsors from his work and friends, each one to pay $20 for an inch of his hair. He had enough sponsors to cut 21 inches of his hair. A boy used his money to buy supplies to wash cars, which he did for "donations". It was a good lesson in Talents, being a good stewart, Sowing a Seed, and trust…. and the church made back their $10 investments many times over. The stories were just amazing!!

hey tommy! ok so i am really into the whole fundraising thing and i have plenty of ideas for you so get out a piece of paper and a pen…
    - you could have a fundraiser at your church with donations from the companies that own all of the rides and etc!
    - put a huge thermometer (meter) with the amount of money you want to raise (total)
    - in front of the church set up a stand that has a sign for raising money for your church and information about it and a box that has a slot on the top and a card that says donations on it
    - go around door to door in your neighborhood and get your friends to help you out!
    - have a lemonade stand or something like that and say that all your profits are going to your church
    - ask for some donations during church
    - make some signs and put them up around your neighborhood and etc.
    - have a church event that has a reason or motto thats likeraise our roof or something like that and get some businesses to make donations like that for it! and like spread the word about it so that a bunch of people come! like chuckie cheeses type thing or carnival with games and things like that with cool rides and tickets/tokens and etc! and every single cent of the money thats is payed or given at the carnival/event will go toward the church!
    - also you can a bake sale
    - car washes are always fun
    - babysitting thing for kids
    - camps – like a bible study thing that would be a great way to 1 help parents during the summer
2 teach kids that going to church is really fun
    3 get service hours
4 raise money for your church!

anyway tommy i hope that i helped you and good luck! and by the way no matter what dont give up!

Hi there, Tommy! GREAT questions and GREAT cause! :)

I've been heavily involved with nonprofit fund raising for years….so here are some ideas I have that could be relatively low in cost for your church…

    1) Consider a mail campaign – depending on how many mailing addresses you have, you never know how many people might respond to your cause and just write you a check! This works amazingly well for several organizations that are short on time AND resources.

    2) Consider running an online auction – this is an AWESOME way to get to the people whose mailing addresses you don't have (ie you've got their EMAILS)…your email base can feel like they're using their expendable income on great stuff AND its going to their church at the same time!
I've included a link of one of the online auction companies that I've worked with…cMarket. They also have another website, BiddingforGood.com, that opens your auction up to all their members so that people who you don't even know can donate to your cause and bid on your items!

    3) Have a fundraising event – give people in your congregation something to look forward to, and host a gala….you can sell tickets, have an auction, raffle prizes, etc that will give your church something to look forward to AND a perfect opportunity to donate to something they care about.

    Some other quick thoughts…

    Carwash (modestly by the way)
    Krispy-Kreme
    Talent show.
Serve dinner at church, and sell tickets to get out.
    babysitting
    rock-a-thon
    make calenders
    chicken plates

Another idea for simple to manage fundraising, also consider Fundraising Discount Cards.

In a nutshell, you buy plastic credit card type cards, which could have your chosen fundraiser logo on the front & approx 12 to 20 local merchants offering discounts on the back, you sell these at a profit (obviously), but also the person buying the card actually has more than the value of the card in discounts – win/win.

Eg: you buy card for $2, sell card for $10, & person buying has in excess of $10 worth of discounts.

Some of the better companies offer to get the merchants for you & some don’t even ask for payment until 2 weeks later, effectively paying for the cards out of the profit you’ve already made! – http://locatereviews.com/852550389
