Anybody have good fundraising ideas?

I want to open a kid fun and kid safe card/ comic & toy shop. school. I don't have very much start up funds, nor the greatest credit. There's a trade center (Gibraltar Trade Center) consit of several booths with small business, mine is a little card/toy shop wich is a busy place. I have probably only 400 sq ft. This place is always packed. I haveve acess to the show area, so I have a nice size area yu-gi-oh, Magic,& other tournaments. The problem is the trade center's only open 3 days a week and just raised their rent to $1200 a month. For about $800 more(everything included) I have found a building right next to a high school and elementry school, in a plaza perfect location! what I would offer incentives for kids to keep good grades by giving store credit for good grades. I think school is impportant. Do you think the school, or church would help raise funds to keep kids of the street? Even if they don't, what are some good fundraising ideas? More detail in my profile. Any ideas?

You have a good idea. I have a few suggestions. Since your plan involves interaction with children, you and your employees may need background checks. I think the schools will insist upon it.

Make an appointment and talk to the school officials. They may have some ideas about grants and fund raising. Also, ask the Parent Teacher groups for ideas and support. The local police may be willing to help, too. Ask at your local public library, too. The Young Adult librarian may be able to steer you in the right direction.

Good idea! Kids love comics and Yu-gi-oh!

Silicone rubber wristbands with a custom message imprinted on them can be used for any fundraising venture. These are low cost and customizable allowing for a high return on your investment. They are ideal for promoting school spirit, social awareness, branding, or any other message. http://www.bracelets-with-a-message.com

Yeah, they would help you. You could try Cinnabon, lots of people love them, and the holidays are comming up. If you have one in your area, they will assist you with a fund raiser. You could do something with Greeting Cards and stuff for Christmas. Also, chocolate is always a good one. Or you could join on to Mary Kay or something.

Another idea for simple to manage fundraising, also consider Fundraising Discount Cards.

In a nutshell, you buy plastic credit card type cards, which could have your chosen fundraiser logo on the front & approx 12 to 20 local merchants offering discounts on the back, you sell these at a profit (obviously), but also the person buying the card actually has more than the value of the card in discounts – win/win.

Eg: you buy card for $2, sell card for $10, & person buying has in excess of $10 worth of discounts.

Some of the better companies offer to get the merchants for you & some don’t even ask for payment until 2 weeks later, effectively paying for the cards out of the profit you’ve already made!
