Here are a couple that are sure money makers over time..but they do take commitment…
    1. An organized baby sitting service during the holidays so the parents can go out and shop for the little ones and other family members and feel comfortable knowing the child or children are being cared for in a safe environment.
    2. Set up a "Pet Setting" service…this sounds hard but it is not difficult…your biggest hurdle will be publicity outside just your church environment and families…although if a big church then this may be all you need….and establishing a fair price for your services….by the way what will be your services…
i.e. Feeding and walking the pets, cleaning up after the pets, bringing in the mail and newspapers so no one can easily identify the family is away, and also monitoring the house.
My wife and I have created pet sitters in every neighborhood we have lived by speaking with a young adult and encouraging that person to become a pet sitter for our pets..and quickly the word has spread amongst the neighborhood and has become a money maker for the student.
Good luck…but whatever you do…remember it will take work and commitment.

Fundraising: sponsor an all-ages dinner. Provide something relatively inexpensive that will feed a lot, like spaghetti or chili. Then, get local businesses and neighbors, etc., to donate items to a raffle. Have the items all set up at the dinner, and put a little jar or basket (some type of container) in front. Sell tickets like, 5 for $1 or something, and let people put as many tickets as they like in for each item. So, if I really want the gift certificate for a local store, I can buy 20 tickets for $4 and put them all in for that gift certificate. Or, I can put a few in there, and then spend the rest of my tickets for chances at other items. Draw all the items after the dinner. My HS reunion committee made $3,000 this way.

As for a service project: sponsor some kind of entertainment or party for disabled adults – especially those with autism. Lots of people think small children with disabilities are "cute" and will do things to help them, but once these children grow up, their disabilities don't go away. Only now, they're not so "cute" anymore, and it seems most people forget they exist. You could put on a dance, a movie night, a carnival – anything where disabled adults and their families could do something fun together with other people who understand them and will not be freaked out if someone has a meltdown or drools or whatever. Be sure to research the disability you plan to focus on first – many people with autism do not like loud noises and would need a "quiet room" to be available for them so they could "check out" for a bit if they got to be overstimulated. I'm sure there are other things to know about various conditions, as well.

Hope this helps – I wish you luck.
