1. We do an annual "Enchilada lunch". We get together to make them, and then sell them on Sunday morning. Last year we raised more than $1,000, and we only had about 100 people! We do enchiladas because I live in New Mexico, and so it is a common food, but you could do something else like pasta or sandwiches.

2. Ice cream socials. Easy, fun, sweet. We bought ice cream in bulk (from Sam's Club), and toppings, and then charged people, I think, $5 for a scoop (it is a fundraiser after all) with toppings.

3. We did a talent show one year with the children and youth of the church. We charged people and "entry fee" (usually they don't mind because they know it is going to a good cause), and we all did our talents. It was a hit!

4. Because you said you have a lot of older people in your church, how about organizing something like a 50's themed dance/dinner night. You could play swing music, and even cater it yourselves, and just charge people to get it. That would be fun!
