Have an auction. Get local stores donate something. They can take if off their taxes and it is good publicity for them. Have a singing contest and sell tickets at the door to watch the singers. Family and friends will buy all the tickets. They all want to see their kids sing. Have a fish fry dinner and charge by the plate....for example, fried fish, red beans and rice, coleslaw. There is always someone around who has one of those big pots to fry the fish in. May be able to get the oil and paper plates donated. If any of you have a green thumb, you could have a plant sale. Sell rooted cuttings, which doesn't cost anything and also have books. A plant and book sale will bring in money.
