What is the best fundraiser your group has ever done?
My church youth group needs to do a fundraiser that makes a good profit and doesn't take months to plan.
pledged for marathons…to save some hospital sick kids…i don't know exactly this was in grade school

I need good fundraiser ideas. Not costly Just genuine ideas with little or no cost.
Avon (the make-up company) also does fundraisers. You may have an Avon representative that is a member of your church. You could ask during announcements.

You could go to area business (make sure to talk to the owner or manager in charge of decisions) and ask for donations (like a 10.00 gas card, a 10.00 gift card to the pizza place or a 10.00 off card to a local mechanic) Make sure you let them know what these funds will be used for. Then place the gift cards into an envelope and state on a paper or bi-fold card that such and such business donated a gift card and that the customer will be bidding on a silent/blind auction. Meaning that they know where the gift card is from, just not how much it is for. Place a piece of paper numbered to 20 in front of each envelop. Have the bidder put their name, address, phone number and the amount they bid on each line. At the end of say 3 hours call or say the name of the highest bidder. Often times, you will get more that what was originally donated for that item. You could do the silent/blind auction while hosting a rummage sale/bake sale.

Please no car washes or bake sales, we have done too many.
You could try an earth friendly fundraiser. They can be really fun and educational for church youth groups. You sell “green” items like organic foods and reusable shopping bags. It’s a great way to teach church youth about God’s plan for people to be stewards of his creation.
